Paint protection film (PPF), also known as clear bra, is a thin, clear urethane film that is applied to the surface of the vehicle. It is designed to protect the paint from minor scratches, chips, and other types of damage caused by road debris and other environmental factors. PPF is a great option for those who want a durable, long-lasting solution for protecting their paint. PPF also adds value to the vehicle after application due to it keeping the vehicle in great condition. The cost of paint protection film will vary depending on size of vehicle and coverage desired.

Another option is ceramic coating. Ceramic coating is a liquid product that is applied to the surface of the vehicle and then overtime cures. Once cured, the coating forms a hard, protective barrier on the surface of the paint. Ceramic coatings are designed to provide protection against oxidation, minor swirl marks, and other types of damage, as well as to enhance the shine and gloss of the paint. The coating is also hydrophobic which means that it repels water and dirt, making it much easier to clean your vehicle. Yes, Xpel Ultimate Plus Paint Protection Films are warrantied for 10 years. This warranty covers: yellowing, delaminating, cracking, peeling, bubbling, and more.

Can I run my car through an automatic car wash?

Yes! Please wait at least 48 hours after the film has been installed to go through a car wash.

Can I put ceramic coating over PPF?

Yes, as listed above, pairing paint protecting film with a ceramic coating is the ultimate way to protect your vehicle.

Do you wrap the edges when you apply the PPF?

Yes! We pride ourselves in our quality of PPF and wrap the film anywhere on the vehicle where an edge can be wrapped.

How much does Paint Protection Film cost?

Is paint protection film self-healing?

Yes, it is a self-healing film that can be repaired with the addition of heat to help heal out scratches and swirl marks.

How long does the process take?

At Lakeshore Window Tinting we pride ourselves on our quality of work. We do not rush any project. Depending on the size of the project will depend on how long we will need the vehicle. For example, for just a bumper we would need the car for at least 24 hours. For larger projects, it can vary from 2-3 days to over a week.

How long does it last?

Xpel’s warranty guarantees 10 years. If the film is well maintained, it can last longer.
